Title of Research
Methodologies of economic evaluation for innovative non-pharmaceutical health technologies
Biography
I began my PhD studies at ScHARR in October 2011. The topic of my thesis is early stage economic evaluations of innovative health technologies, with focus on uncertainty, value of further research and innovation uptake. My PhD is funded by the Policy Research Unit in Economic Evaluation of Health and Care Interventions (EEPRU).
Before starting the PhD, I graduated from City University London with an MSc in Health Economics in October 2011. I was also working as a research assistant for Prof. Mireia Jofre-Bonet at City University. In my master thesis I looked at the impact of pharmaceutical regulation on innovative productivity and social welfare creating a dynamic model. I am part of a project group to develop this model further. Before moving to London for the MSc programme, I have had four years of work experience, three of which in a pharmaceutical company in Singapore and the Philippines. I hold a Diploma in International Business Studies (IBS Lippstadt, Germany) and a BA in Business Management (University of Sunderland).
Research Interests
My research interests lie in early stage economic evaluations using Bayesian methods, value of information methods and modelling innovation uptake; and the impact of healthcare innovations on welfare.
