Biography
I was appointed as Senior Lecturer in 2000. Prior to this I had been undertaking training in Vascular Interventional Radiology as Endovascular Fellow at the Sheffield Vascular Institute at the Northern General Hospital. At the same time I undertook an MSc at the University of Sheffield in Health Services Research.
Prior to moving to Sheffield in 1997, I was a Senior Registrar undergoing training in radiology at St George's Hospital, London.
Research interests
My main research interests include the assessment of clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness of radiological and vascular interventions.

- Module Lead for the Practical Aspects of Clinical Research, a 30 Credit Module as part of the ScHARR MSc in Clinical Research

- Co-ordinator of the registry of endovascular treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms – a voluntary UK wide registry, moving to the NVD online registry.
- Co-ordinator of the thoracic stent graft registry – a voluntary UK wide registry
- Member of the BSIR/VS registries group
- Reviewer for various vascular and interventional radiology journals
- Responsible for research and research teaching for radiology SpRs on the North Trent Radiology Training Scheme
Current Projects
- Studies on the cost effectiveness of various non invasive approaches to diagnosis of cardiac disease using cardiac CT and MR techniques.
- Studies of the cost and outcome implications of the organisation of services for investigation and treatment of TIA
- Studies of the clinical and cost-effectiveness of endovascular treatment for abdominal aortic aneurysm including clinical trials and economic modelling
- Clinical and cost effectiveness studies related to endovascular treatment for various aspects of vascular disease including carotid disease and peripheral vascular disease
