Review Body for Interventional Procedures (ReBIP)

Please note the ReBIP Project finished on the 31st March 2011
ReBIP carries out two main types of work.
The first is a systematic review of the literature to provide an assessment of the available evidence for the Interventional Procedures Advisory Committee (IPAC) to make use of when formulating guidelines relating to safety and efficacy. Once the referral from IPAC is received the ReBIP management group allocate the review to one of the two partner centres where a review team will then be assembled.
The second is to work with interested parties in establishing a procedure database or registry to which clinicians can submit information on the outcomes of that particular procedure. Analysis of the registry contents will then be carried out at intervals and reported back to IPAC for updating of guidance on safety and efficacy issues.
