Biography
My initial training was as a social anthropologist, and social policy scientist. I began my career working in the voluntary sector, before joining the Government Social Research service, designing and managing large-scale policy evaluations in the fields of social security, welfare and employment, mainly at the Department for Work and Pensions. I have worked in Europe and in developing countries, and joined the University of Sheffield in 2007 to work on the NIHR funded evaluation of the ‘Improving Access to Psychological Therapies’ (IAPT) service delivery programme. Currently, I work as Research Fellow and Project Manager for the CLAHRC- South Yorkshire Depression Theme (Improving Quality and Effectiveness of Services, Therapies and Self-Management for longer term depression). I am also a tutor and supervisor on the Masters in Public Health and MSc in Psychotherapy Studies programmes.
