I commenced my nurse training in 2005, and since then have worked in a variety of mental health settings in both England and Gibraltar. I completed my Masters degree in 2010 and joined the University of Sheffield in 2011, to begin a PhD research degree.

I also work with the Diocese of Sheffield to develop a training programme on mental health issues for their clergy and pastoral workers.

Current projects

I am currently researching the use of Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) for the treatment of long term depression as part of the improving Quality and Effectiveness of Services, Therapies and Self-management in longer term depression (IQuESTS).

I am working in collaboration with the Diocese of Sheffield and Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust and Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust chaplains to develop a training programme for their clergy and pastoral workers to improve their knowledge of mental health and improve the service user experience.
