Biography

I began my studies at Liverpool University in 1994 and obtained a BSc (Hons) in Therapy Radiography in July 1997. I worked in 3 different hospitals in Saudi Arabia from August 1997- July 2007. In February, 2003 I travelled to Australia for further education and I obtained MSc degree in Medical Radiation Sciences by coursework from Sydney University in June 2004. I also had the chance to work part time radiographer in Nepean Cancer Centre and Liverpool Hospital in Sydney. In July 2004 I was promoted as the Head of Radiotherapy Department at Princess Norah Oncology Centre, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and worked there until July 2007. I started my PhD at Sheffield University in September 2007.

My topic is to explore and understand factors associated with late presentation of patients with cancer at oncology centres in Saudi Arabia.

Research Interests

My research interests are: Delay in cancer diagnosis and treatment, health system evaluation and promotion, and the relationship between culture and health.

Teaching Interests

I am interesting in teaching qualitative research methods and designs.
