Biography
After completing my undergraduate masters in sociology at the University of Edinburgh, I secured an ESRC studentship to do a postgraduate masters in research at Nottingham University. After graduating I worked as a research associate for 5 years at the School of |Nursing at Nottingham University. In that time I worked on a number of research projects which include: palliative care, public use of health technology, and Arts and Health. At this time I am completing my ESRC funded PhD study at ScHARR. The topic of my PhD study is `nurses´ gendered understanding of technology in critical care setting.
Research Interests
My research interests concern the social and philosophical studies of technology and science. In particularly I am interested in the intersection of identity, gender and the social shaping of technology. Along with technology I have an interest in Social theory and qualitative methodology issues.
Current projects
- Nurses’ understanding of technology in the ICU
