Biography

I completed my BA (Hons) degree in Communication Studies at Nottingham Trent University in 2000 and have since undertaken a part time MSc in Health and Social Care Leadership at Sheffield Hallam University which I completed in 2008.

I have worked in a variety of quality improvement and management roles in the acute NHS Trusts in Sheffield and Nottingham since 2001 and I commenced my part time PhD in September 2010.

My research topic is organisational culture, quality improvement and efficiency savings in the NHS.

Research Interests

For my MSc I conducted a small scale research study investigating the links between quality improvement and organisational culture in an acute NHS Trust and this is a theme I plan to develop for my PhD. Like many public sector bodies the NHS is coming under increasing financial pressure so I am interested in examining the features of a organisational culture that can help deliver continuous quality improvement in a cost efficient way.
