One Big Question (3)
3. How can we practically encourage staff to offer 'bottom up' solutions?
Whose problem are we trying to find a bottom up solution for? We need to identify the key institutional problems we want people to address. We need to give staff responsibility to do something, but ensure they are supported, to test new ideas and concepts. We need to encourage them to make decisions, within a risk based approach (to try it and see).
Someone raised a question at the event – "what do we need to be in the top 100?" This is a good challenge to set for our staff – one where we can seek a bottom up solution/input, to understand and consider solutions with greater consistency and more corporate clarity.
I would like the Steering Group, with you, to think of some practical ways we can enable this to happen.
