Your Accommodation

All Sheffield International College students are guaranteed a place in one of our self-catering halls of residences near the University's city campus. In these halls, all rooms are ensuite (you have a private bathroom) and are grouped into apartments where you will share kitchen and dining facilities.

Confirmation

Your room in halls of residence is only confirmed when you return the completed Arrivals Form. You should do this as soon as possible in order to get the best choice of rooms. We will do our best to give you a room in your first choice hall of residence, but cannot guarantee this.

Contracts

Once you have signed a contract, you are legally required to stay and pay for the whole length of the contract. If you collect the keys and stay a night in the room this is the same as signing a contract.

Payments and Deposits

On arrival you may be asked to pay a deposit and the first instalment to the accommodation provider. Please check with the College prior to arrival for full details.

Lifestyle

You should expect to do your share of cooking and cleaning. Please treat your flatmates, and your flat, with respect. For example, do not play loud music late at night. Do not leave dirty saucepans, cooking items, dishes and plates after you have eaten.

Try to arrange evenings when all students in the flat eat a meal together. This is a great way to make friends, practise your cooking, and save money.

If your flat is left dirty or damaged, your deposit will not be returned.

Short term accommodation

It is not possible to live in a hall of residence for one or two weeks and then move out. By applying for the accommodation, you are committed to staying in and paying for the accommodation for the length of the contract. If you plan to stay in temporary accommodation while you arrange your long term accommodation, a list of affordable hotels close to the College is available below.
