Core Modules

Key Academic Skills
This module builds students´ confidence in academic writing and encourages good academic practice such as avoiding plagiarism, systematic referencing and review processes. Other topics include: comparing viewpoints, note-taking, developing arguments and summarising.

Research Project
Students develop confidence and independence by producing an extended piece of written work on a topic of their choice, related to their subject expertise or interest. Simple research will be undertaken and the project will be presented to the class using appropriate presentation techniques.

Foundation Mathematics
This module explores the principles of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, vectors, differentiation and intergration and their application in both pure and applied areas of mathematic to solve problems

Fundamentals of Science
This module aims to develop students' understanding of key foundational scientific knowledge including: basic science of gases, liquids and solids; trends and patterns in the periodic table; attractions and repulsions; chemical energy chanes and solutions and pH.
