We hope you will feel at home in Sheffield from your very first day. You will find the environment at both Sheffield International College and the University of Sheffield very welcoming, and will meet people of all nationalities and cultures and form friendships which may last a lifetime.
The friendly social events organised by the many student societies at the University of Sheffield showcase the cultural diversity on campus. Favourite events include Chinese New Year festivities; Global Flavas; International Food Evening; and Global Fiesta, a week-long celebration of the international student community.

The Union of Students – the centre of campus life
The Union of Students has something for everyone. Shops, restaurants, a cinema, a bank, and a travel agency are all located in one convenient building. It also offers male and female prayer rooms, quiet study spaces, and a full sports and entertainment programme.

Learning happens outside the classroom as well as inside. This term we have organized four types of activity to support your learning and development – outside the classroom.

Activities Card When you attend an event in the College, you can get your card stamped. When you attend an event outside the College, bring your card to staff in the College and it will be stamped for you. This helps us to follow your progress. In addition, at the end of term, for the students who have filled up their card, there will be a draw with prizes for the winners!
