Trusted and rigorous: quality courses

• Our quality courses are regularly and rigorously quality assured by the University of Sheffield.

• The Joint Academic Advisory Board is made up of staff from the College and the University of Sheffield. The Board has overall responsibility for assurance of academic standards of all courses and the quality of the learning opportunities provided.

• Because our quality courses have been developed together with our university partners, they introduce our students to exactly the subjects they will study in more depth at university.

• The College has received British Accreditation Council (BAC) accreditation.

Encouraging and reassuring: academic support

• We will give you a unique personal advisor – a Learning Support Tutor - to help you get the most from the quality courses.
You will meet your Learning Support Tutor every two weeks in the first term and every month later on. The Learning Support Tutor´s job is to discuss your individual progress in class and encourage you to develop a disciplined, effective study habit ready for university.

• We will ensure you always keep your ultimate goal in mind – university studies
We will arrange visits to your progression department and will host their staff for information sessions and activities. We will also discuss your progression options as your results become available and your interests develop during the quality courses.

• We will help you focus your efforts in class
We teach small classes so you will always have the chance to participate fully. You will get to know your tutor and classmates quickly so you can feel confident about participating. We will also produce mid-term reports to give concrete evidence of your progress so far.
