International activity
SISA conducts many research and educational activities at an international level including: joint research; contributions to international symposiums and committees; the development of strategic links; and hosting international research students. Our international research is focused on policies and interventions to improve health care systems and to extend the quality of life and independence of older people.
Educational activities are focused on establishing a network of strategic links for student and staff exchange, and establishing SISA as a leading international centre for ageing research.
The majority of academic staff and colleagues within SISA have a strong international dimension to their research and have well-established partnerships and links with international institutions on ageing research and policy.
European Projects
Much of SISA's research income during the second half of the 1990s came from the European Union through its support of joint research with academics from other European countries. Similarly, cross-university research on ageing involves strong partnerships with other European countries.
