To find out more about language study in Sheffield - and to give you the chance to get to know us - you are warmly invited to come to an open day. There are two kinds of open days: University open days that take place in the summer months and language department open days that take place in spring.
A general University open day lets you get a feel for what living and studying in Sheffield is like. The languages open days allow you to learn in depth about the courses on offer and you get to meet our staff and many of our current students.
University Open DaysThe University open days let you explore life at the University of Sheffield. You can learn about admissions, accommodation, finance, sports facilities and life at our award winning Students' Union. Our campus tours allow you visit our library, sports centre and Students' Union, while you can also have a look around the city; the University is a 10 minute walk from the centre and forms a major part of the city's vibrant, friendly atmosphere. You can also attend a talk in the languages departments. This is your chance to meet staff and students, have a chat and find out more about what language learning with us is like. |
Languages Post-Offer Open DaysIf you have already received an offer for one of our courses then we invite you to come to a languages open day. Here you can form a detailed impression of language study in Sheffield. You will find out about the teaching and support you will receive, the opportunities that await you both in Sheffield and on your year abroad, and why studying languages with us is your first step to a fantastic future. You will meet our current students too, who can give you a first hand report on studying at Sheffield. Regardless of which language or languages you are interested in, languages open days all take place on the same day. This is so that you can visit more than one language department on the same day. Our main post-offer open day dates will be Wed 13 Feb, Wed 27 Feb, Wed 6 March and Fri 12 April 2013. We hope you can join us for one of them. |
