If you decide to continue your studies and undertake doctoral research, you’ll develop a solid grounding from which you can develop your research.

Teaching and Assessment

All of our taught courses (with the exception of MA Crossways in Cultural Narratives) can be studied full-time over one year or part-time over two years. You’ll attend lectures and seminars, and participate in projects. Assessment is by coursework assignments, presentations, projects, journals and a dissertation.

Multilingual Information Management The study of effective retrieval and presentation of information from and to different languages and cultures.	Screen Translation The study and practice of subtitling in a range of media contexts linking the linguistic and visual elements of translation.	Translation Studies The study of theories, techniques and tools of translation for producing high-quality culture-sensitive translated text.	Catalan Studies Develop your knowledge of the Hispanic field of study specialising in aspects of the Catalan language and culture.
Germanic Studies Deepen and extend your understanding of particular aspects of the Germanic culture, language and literature.	French Studies Deepen and extend your understanding of particular aspects of the French culture, language and literature.	Hispanic Studies Deepen and extend your understanding of particular aspects of the Hispanic culture, language and literature.
