This higher research degree provides students the opportunity to study at either master or doctoral level. Students who undertake research degrees with us benefit from the knowledge and experience of supervisors with international standing in the research community.Supervision is offered within the School's areas of expertise and current research activity, including:

Current opportunities

We accept applications to study for a PhD throughout the year but strongly encourage students to register for the autumn Semester (September) in order to benefit from all the activities available at that time.  A second point of registration is available in early February.  Please refer to our interests and areas of expertise via our staff pages (above) for information on how we might support your research. Entry requirements

Good honours degree, masters degree or equivalent. Evidence of ability to study at the required level.

Ability to use the English language must meet the minimum level of IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6 in each component) or equivalent TOEFL Paper Based 575, or TOEFL Computer Based 232 or TOEFL internet-based 90).
