Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Studies leading to professional registration as an Adult Nurse
The School has been commissioned by the NHS to provide the above course as an innovative route to registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as an Adult Nurse.

The course will prepare students to work within the NHS and health and social care sectors as nurses. The course uses an innovative approach to learning alongside other health care professional groups and within health care settings to ensure that students develop the competence for effective practice, and the knowledge and confidence to progress their careers effectively following qualification.

Course Aims

  1. To enable students to engage critically in current research, policy and practice in the field of Adult nursing and develop a range of clinical skills and knowledge commensurate with entry to the professional register.
  2. To enable students to critically appraise and evaluate the theoretical and empirical elements of nursing, developing academic skills linking theory to practice
  3. To provide an environment which develops students´ leadership and problem solving skills in contemporary health care settings

Entry requirements/ How to apply?

Start date: 16 September 2013

Applicants should possess a suitable Bachelors degree, or equivalent, in a cognate discipline to Nursing (e.g. Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Public Services) and 650 hours of health related experience.

Our standard English requirements for overseas applicants are: IELTS with an overall score of 7 (with no less than 7 in each part).

Applications may be delayed unless you list your results for GCSE english, mathematics and science and the classification of your first degree.
