Biography

I joined the University as a researcher in 2009. My professional background is adult nursing (thoracic surgery and palliative care) and health information/publishing.

Research Interests

Living with and managing long-term conditions
Stroke care
Palliative and supportive care

Teaching Interests

Tutor for Medical School Phase 1A Community Attachment Scheme – Psychosocial aspects of health & illness, 2009–10, 2010–11.

Professional activities

PhD staff candidate (Supervisors: Dr Tony Ryan, School of Nursing & Midwifery; Dr Michelle Marshall, Academic Unit of Medical Education).

Current projects

• NIHR Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research & Care (CLAHRC) for South Yorkshire.
• Work package 3 – Self management after stroke through education. Stroke Theme Lead: Dr Tony Ryan.
