The Course
The BMedSci is a three year full-time course with an elective placement in the final year and opportunities for postgraduate study. As a student in the School of Nursing and Midwifery you would be part of a vibrant student community and work alongside healthcare practitioners. The course will develop a comprehensive understanding of the health service environment equipping you for a variety of rewarding careers in health and social care.
Career Options
The Health and Human Sciences degree provides a relevant qualification for direct entry into careers such as the healthcare professions, health care management, health research, community project coordination, patient advocacy and health education. For students wishing to take up training in nursing or allied health professions such as occupational therapy or speech therapy, it is an appropriate basis for applications to relevant postgraduate diploma or masters programmes.
The School of Nursing & Midwifery is currently ranked 9th out of 71 institutions in the Complete University Guide 2013.
Enquiries and Admissions
Entry to the course requires evidence of good academic ability, but there are no specific subject requirements at A level or equivalent. We require English Language GCSE Grade C, or equivalent; we take an individual approach to assessing relevant experience as well as formal qualifications and are always happy to discuss particular requirements and queries.
