Abstract

A financialisation, personalisation, marketisation and privatisation framework will be used to examine the policies and restructuring of public services and the welfare state and their impact on services users, jobs and economy. Particular focus on:

• the commissioning model of local government
• reform of the NHS
• PFI and infrastructure market

The seminar will draw on examples of action research. It will conclude by assessing the implications for research agendas and alternative strategies for the reconstruction of the economy, state and public services.
