Disrupted Studies or Lack of Support

If any new, clear evidence is available to demonstrate that your academic performance to date may have been compromised as a direct result of your disability, please refer to the University’s Disrupted Studies guidance:
A Disrupted Studies application form is also available via this link and your school or college MUST be prepared to provide a supporting statement.
Information that is accepted as part of the Disrupted Studies procedure may be reviewed by an admissions officer prior to a decision being made regarding your academic suitability for the course. This information may be revisited should you not satisfy the conditions of your offer (e.g. upon receipt of exam results) prior to a confirmation decision being made.
We do not expect that this will apply to many applicants and you will not be eligible for consideration if you have already been given sufficient allowances to compensate for circumstances (e.g. additional time in examinations). Also, for applicants with dyslexia or another specific learning difficulty, we cannot make any allowances for work completed without support before the point at which you were diagnosed.
The deadline for Disrupted Studies submissions is 31st July for courses that start in September, except in very exceptional circumstances. This also applies for courses for deferred entry, so please ensure that information is provided during the year that you make your application, not the year that you wish to start your course.
For further information about making submitting a Disrupted Studies application, please contact the Widening Participation Admissions Officer, Ian McGarry (Tel: 0114 222 1410, email: I.McGarry@sheffield.ac.uk)
