Short-term absence

In cases where students are absent from the University by agreement for only a very short period (e.g. for one or two weeks), this would not normally constitute a formal leave of absence, though it would still be appropriate to record the position for record-keeping/audit purposes, etc. A Special Circumstances Form may be used in such cases. The receipt of such a form by Student Services would be flagged centrally on the relevant student´s record, but this information would not normally be passed onto the student's financial sponsors (Student Loans Company etc).
