Students with Multiple Disabilities

Students with multiple disabilities are encouraged to contact the Disability and Dyslexia Support Service as soon as possible to assess your support requirements.

Support for students with multiple disabilities may include:

• Support Workers, e.g. note taker, library assistant
  
• Specialist equipment, e.g. personal computer, specialist software, Dictaphone
  
• Alternative examination arrangements, e.g. extra time, use of a PC with specialist software, amanuensis (scribe), separate exam room
  

A UK student´s home Social Services Department should be contacted to arrange any personal care support requirements. Applicants are advised to contact their local Social Services Department at an early stage to discuss their everyday living needs. It is sometimes possible for an arrangement to be made between your LEA or other funding body and local Social Services to fund Community Service Volunteers to help provide both academic and personal care support.
