Appropriate equipment and software is usually identified and obtained during the full needs assessment process. These can include:

- ergonomic equipment- such as height adjustable desks, chairs, monitor and laptop stands, keyboards, mice and wrist rests
- computers
- large screen monitors
- scanners and printers
- recorders and portable keyboards for note taking
- digital organisers
- radio aids
- CCTVs and magnifiers

- magnifying software
- speech recognition
- text to speech
- scanning
- typing tutors
- mind-mapping
Loan Equipment
The Disability and Dyslexia Support Service has a small bank of equipment that can be loaned to students for short-term periods. These items include:
- Laptop computers
- Recording equipment
- Ergonomic aids
- Portable induction loops
- Portable CCTV
- APH Index Recording machines
- Minicoms
- Scanners
- Large flat-screen monitors
Loans can be provided for students who are waiting for their Disabled Students´ Allowance or where items necessary for support have not yet been received. They can also be provided to students not eligible for the Disabled Students´ Allowances.
