Examinations Overseas
Applications to take examinations overseas during January/February 2014 are required no later than 31 October 2013
Undergraduate international students* Please wait until you have received your exam results via MUSE on 6 September 2013 before applying for this service. Students studying at levels one and two (see your department for details of exceptions) may apply to take not assessed (NA), not completed (NC), or Failed (F) examinations in their home country.
* Applications are now invited from students who are domiciled in Cyprus and Greece.
Postgraduate students
The publication dates of examination results vary. Applications will be considered on an individual basis and 6 weeks notice is required, prior to the dates of the examinations. Early applications are generally most successful.
All applications will be considered on an individual basis. Please note, those centres marked with an asterix on the application form may not be available. If we are unable to organise your examination at a particular centre, we will email you with further details.

Fees
A fee of £275 is applied if you are attending an examination at a centre overseas. This is payable in addition to the required reassessment fees. You can pay online at www.shef.ac.u/payments. Your student record will be updated on receipt of your application. Please note that if you have any debts to the University you may not be able to continue on the next level of your degree.
Erasmus, Study Abroad and Visiting students.
Students registered on Erasmus, Study Abroad or Visiting programmes should contact their home department at this University for advice.
What happens next?
On receipt of all completed applications received by the deadlines indicated above, the Examinations Team will contact the British Council or local agency. If the British Council agrees to conduct the examinations, you will be informed by email. Please check your University account regularly during the 2 weeks prior to the date of your examinations. Examinations will be conducted as close to the University of Sheffield timetable as possible.
What happens if the British Council is NOT available?
In the event that the British Council you request is unavailable, an alternative may be offered to you. If you do not wish to accept the alternative, you will be required to return to Sheffield to sit your examination(s).
How will I know when my examinations takes place?
Examination timetables are available at http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/ssid/exams/timetables. Students are required to check the dates of their examinations.
