Visa Extension Scheme
Extending Leave To Remain through the University's Visa Extension Scheme)
The University is able to help students who need to extend their Leave to Remain by sending batches of applications to a special section of the UK Border Agency (UKBA). Such applications (if straightforward, complete and dealt with by this section) are currently returned within 12-16 weeks. (Please note: we cannot guarantee that UKBA will agree to process all applications in this way.)
If you have an appointment to extend your own visa through the University's Visa Extension Scheme and you want to include your dependants you will need to get your dependant's form(s) checked by the Student Advice Centre .
The charge for postal applications is £394 for the main applicant and £197 for each dependant.
If you apply in person you will be charged £716 plus £358 for each dependant.
Applications sent through the Visa Extension Scheme (VES) will only be accepted with postal orders or bankers draft for payment. Postal orders can be obtained from any post office. Those should be made payable to: "Home Office".
Bankers draft can be obtained from your bank, please seek advice from your bank directly.
