The Post Study Work (PSW) scheme has replaced the International Graduates Scheme. Successful applicants will be allowed to remain in the UK to work for 2 years without needing a work permit or a job offer. |
You will need to apply for a National Insurance number but you do not need to have received your National Insurance number before you can start work. |

All students who are resident in the UK, regardless of age or nationality, are required to pay Income Tax on earnings and other taxable income that exceed their Personal Allowance. |
Applications for permits can only be made by UK-based employers on behalf of the person they wish to employ. There is no provision within the current arrangements for individuals to apply on their own behalf. |
