ELTC
The English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) offer short language courses for international students but can also provide assistance and advice to you if you feel that help is needed with your English. Most of the Centre´s clients are international students but staff are equally happy to assist home students.
Faculty
All of the academic departments within the University of Sheffield are divided into five faculties (Arts and Humanities; Science; Medicine and Dentistry; Engineering; Social Science). Each faculty acts as an umbrella organisation for departments which share common concerns and academic interests.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information (not personal information) held by the University of Sheffield.

‘Higher Education Achievement Report’: a new kind of undergraduate degree transcript that provides a comprehensive record of students’ curricular and extra-curricular university achievements.
HESA number
A HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency) number is given to everybody who studies in a UK University has a HESA number. The number is used mainly for statistical purposes but sometimes you are required to quote it on application forms for postgraduate study. This number is recorded on your student record and can be obtained from SSiD.
