Financial Support for Care Leavers
We have funding available for our students who have come to University from a care background e.g. have been in Local Authority care, foster care, looked after by relatives other than parents etc. The money we have available is known as the Care Leavers´ Bursary and is £1000 (or £1600 plus a 1st year tution fee waiver worth £9000 for those students starting their course after September 2012) for each year of undergraduate study.
To apply for a bursary all you need to do is get in touch with the Financial Support Team and let us know your circumstances. Alternatively you can complete the application form on the right hand side of this page.

As well as the Care Leaver Bursary you can also apply for financial assistance through the Access to Learning Fund. Financial support is available from the University for students with exceptional financial difficulties or higher than average costs.
