Exchange Students

The staff at the Student Services Information Desk (SSiD) are qualified and experienced to answer most of your questions about university life.

We can also sign most of your official forms on behalf of the University.

SSiD can be found on level 4 of the Students' Union Building, and we are open 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.

Welcome Meeting: Monday 17th September, 3 to 4pm, in the Octagon Centre (Map D3, 118)

Late Arrivals: please visit Student Services Information Desk (SSiD), Level 4, Union of Students Building (Map D3, 120) 

Erasmus Students

Form Signing and Questions

If your home university requires you to have a 'certificate of arrival' or learning agreement signed, please visit SSiD.

Please note, Learning Agreement forms with details of the modules you are taking will need to be signed by the academic department before taking the form to SSiD.

Erasmus departure forms can also be signed by SSiD at the end of the semester.

Please make sure that your form includes an English translation.

Study Abroad Students

Attendance Monitoring

Due to UKBA regulations, if you are a student on a Study Abroad programme you are required to visit SSiD on (or as near to as possible) the 1st and 15th of each month. Please bring your UCard with you.

Council Tax

If you are attending Sheffield for only one semester and need to prove that you do not need to pay Council Tax you can ask SSiD for a document to prove you are exempt from Council Tax. You will also need a document from your home university to show your student status to the Council.
