Student UCard Eligibility

Fully Registered Students

i. New students must have a registration status of FR (Fully Registered), PR (Provisionally Registered) or TEMP (Temporarily Registered) to be issued with a Student UCard.

ii. The end of studies date will be printed on the face of the UCard as the expiry date. If your end of studies date changes, the card can be updated and re-issued free of charge.

iii. Students who have completed their studies and wish to have access to Library and other University facilities should contact the individual service provider for more information. A UCard will not be issued to any student whose registration period has ended.

Postgraduate Research Students with a Registration Status of SU (Submitted)

i. Postgraduate Research Students who have submitted and whose UCard has expired will be granted up to 2 extensions of 3 months at a time.

ii. To obtain the first extension the student must bring their thesis submission receipt in person to the Student Services Information Desk (SSiD) or Computer Centre (CiCs) and the card will be extended for 3 months.

iii. If a second extension is required, students should go to SSiD and obtain a Certificate of Student Status which will confirm the ongoing registration status of SU (Submitted).

iv. At the end of this period, if a student has a registration status of To Resubmit and their end of studies date has been updated, a replacement UCard can be issued.

Students with a Registration Status of Leave of Absence (LOA) or External (EX)

i. External students or students on leave of absence will be entitled to keep using their Student UCard.

ii. Students whose UCard has expired due to leave of absence or external registration status will be entitled to an extension of this card up to the new studies end date on their Student Record.
