Vice-Chancellor announces new open forum dates

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Keith Burnett, has held the first of a series of open forums which are to take place throughout 2011. The forums presented staff with the opportunity to question the Vice-Chancellor directly about the challenges currently facing the higher education sector and to ask about how the University and individual departments may be affected.
Following the events, Professor Burnett has announced the dates of more open forums. They are:
Monday 7 February, 1.30 – 2.30pm in the Tapestry Room, Firth Court
Tuesday 8 February, 4 – 5pm in the Tapestry Room, Firth Court
An additional date has also been added targeted specifically at members of staff who are parents of secondary school pupils, to enable them to get a parental perspective on events. The details of this session are:
Wednesday 9 February, 11am – 12pm in the University Executive Board Room, Firth Court.
If you are interested in attending one of these sessions, please email vc@sheffield.ac.uk with your preferred session.
There will be no specific agenda for the forums; the Vice-Chancellor will begin by outlining some of his thoughts regarding the external environment before opening up the floor for a question and answer session, and general discussion.
