University SAS muck in on the farm
The Student Administration Service (SAS), with the help of SheffieldVolunteering, has been lending a hand at Whirlow Hall Farm Trust as part of this year’s Summer Voliday season.
The 17 volunteers from the SAS spent the day completing a variety of tasks both indoors and outdoors. These included, preparing a flower border ready for children to plant flowers in the afternoon, clearing a polytunnel before building potting benches and clearing an overgrown wildlife garden.
Cheryl Hewitt, a Faculty Support Assistant from the Taught Programmes Office said, “By the time we finished at around 3.30pm the difference we had made was clearly visible and very satisfying. We had just about enough energy to enjoy a tour of the farm before going home for a well earned rest. It was a great team building away day.”
Summer Volidays are organised by SheffieldVolunteering. Volidays offer the chance for teams to work together and enjoy themselves while making a difference with projects across the city and our region.
