It's here! Learn how the MUSE makeover can benefit you

It may have the same name, but MUSE has undergone a radical transformation and it's ready to reveal its new look. With easier access, fewer clicks and a more personal feel, it has been given a CiCS MOT to make it work better for you.

I know what you're thinking – I'm really busy, no time to work out a new system, more hassle… well actually it's the opposite. The key to make-over MUSE is simplicity.

So how does it all work? And what makes it easier for you?

You'll be able to access make-over MUSE by logging in at the top left hand corner of any University web page, you will then see your new My services menu.

As staff, when you click the 'My services' menu you will see links for the most popular services, for example Google mail, Google calendar, Google drive, myJob and many more.

There is also a 'View all services' link that takes you to a list of all services available, which includes all services that are available in the old MUSE.

In the current MUSE, different services are organised between different tabbed screens. A service might be found on the Home tab or on the Library tab etc. In new MUSE there are no tabbed screens. All services are available in the 'My services' menu, either at the top level or by clicking the 'View all services' entry.

With most services you won't have to log in again either. Yes, that's right, less double sign-in. We all know how time consuming that can be when you get a character wrong and have to start again.

And that's not all! Once you are signed in you can navigate anywhere around the main University website and the My Services menu will continue to be available in the top menu bar – the intention is that you will remain signed in all day unless you actively sign out – more minutes saved in the day.

CiCS is confident the new system will be quicker and easier for everyone to navigate and will bring lots of benefits, but are also not complacent and will be on hand to help you with any problems or queries.

As always, if you have any questions or need support please contact the CiCS helpdesk on 0114 222 1111 or tweet questions to the @cics Twitter.
