    University support for Care Leavers

    October 24 -30 is National Care Leavers Week and the theme for this year is ‘Opening Doors’. Launched by The Care Leavers Foundation the aim of the week is to ‘raise awareness among public and politicians alike about the ongoing needs of care leavers, and the inadequate levels of support which these young people receive when they leave care.’

  8. Amy Durrant

    University journalism student nominated for literary award

     Amy Durrant, a University of Sheffield Journalism student, has had her debut novel nominated for the 2013 London Book Award.

    Amy, currently studying the third year of her undergraduate degree, had her novel Prisms published earlier this year by the US publishing house Rainstorm Press.

    Our Students’ Union has been voted Britain’s best in the latest National Student Survey (NSS).

    Our Union’s overall satisfaction score of 95 per cent is significantly above the average of 66 per cent achieved by other UK universities.

    The new year starts here

     We’re really happy to welcome back all our returning students who are joining us for week one of the new academic year.

    You’ll have noticed a few changes on campus since last year due to the refurbishment of University House. We’ve tried our best to keep any disruption caused by this project to a minimum, and hope it doesn’t cause you any inconvenience. Owing to the building work, the Student Services Information Desk can now be found on level 4 of the Students’ Union. As usual it is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, providing you with help and guidance.
