Develop your skills with 301
301 is the University's new Student Skills and Development Centre opening in spring 2013. Based in redesigned premises in 301 Glossop Road, the Centre will offer a flexible, modern space with a range of services and activities to support your skills development.
301 and your studies
To make sure you get the most out of your course, sometimes you need to evaluate your skills to make sure they work in a different learning environment, enhance the skills you already have to perform at your best or learn new skills to help you adapt. 301 can help you develop both academically and personally by providing a range of support services, resources and activities, including: study space and computer facilities; a fully equipped language lab; support for improving your maths, statistics and writing skills and a programme of workshops to equip you to perform at your best in your studies.
301 and your development
Coming to university isn't just about seminars, lectures and exams. It's also about developing as a person and gaining experience and skills to help you succeed in your studies and with whatever you choose to do after university. This might include getting to know people from different cultures and backgrounds, learning a new language, learning to think in different ways and developing study skills and techniques to help you achieve your potential. 301 can help you identify the best ways to develop your skills and which activities will suit you best.
301 and your future
For a successful future after you complete your studies, you need to maximise on the opportunities available to you at university. This way, you have the best chance of developing the employability skills sought after by employers. 301 plays a key role in helping you to develop into a Sheffield Graduate. We work in partnership with a range of partner services to offer a programme of employability activities to ensure you have the attributes you need to succeed.
