Systems Biology Tools for Synthetic Biology

An important aspect of Synthetic Biology is the characterisation and validation of the constructs. Not only a characterisation of the synthetic parts is needed, but also a comprehensive picture of the interaction between the synthetic circuit and the chassis must be drawn. The Systems Biology approach is best suited to do so. This requires the development of bioinformatic tools to aid the analysis of the data. One such tool, Mixture Model on Graphs (MMG), more specifically designed to handle proteomic datasets has shown its usefulness.
