Research interests

I am an interdisciplinary researcher, and my research and publications are in two distinct but related fields. Firstly I am employed within the School of Law where I carry out research into quality in probation practice, and the methods for investigating this. I also research within the field of landscape archaeology and perceptions of landscape. Central to both of these is the investigation of the values which people hold for the world and society which surrounds them.

Teaching

My role at TILL is leading the level one certificate in Archaeology. I teach on a number of modules on this course. I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the programme, admissions onto the programme and student support.

Other Experience

I graduated from the University of Kent in 2009 with a PhD in Biodiversity Management, since then I have been employed as a researcher in the School of Law at Sheffield University. In a previous life I worked as an event organiser for a visitor centre, and this has instilled in me an enduring belief that knowledge and learning should be both accessible and enjoyable. I can also still sometimes be found digging holes in the Peak District.

Activities/Distinctions

In my time working at the university I have been successful in gaining a number of small grants to undertake research, and hold events linked to my research:
