After three years of post-doctoral research, he joined Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery and as Principal Engineer he was involved in the aerodynamic and thermal design of gas turbines for power generation.
In 2005, Rob joined The University of Sheffield, as Lecturer in Experimental Aerodynamics where he built a research group around the areas of gas, wind and tidal turbines. Rob’s teaching focuses on thermodynamics, aerodynamics and aerospace propulsion.
In 2013 Rob was appointed as Deputy Director at TILL, and maintains his research group in Mechanical Engineering.
