Ethel came to Sheffield as a refugee from Zimbabwe. Her Certificate in Creative Writing course at TILL helped her to believe in herself and start her journey towards becoming a writer.

She has now progressed onto study for a masters degree in our School of English.

Abdi Ahmed, Education: Working with Communities graduate

Abdi worked and studied at the same time. His studies have enabled him to develop skills and techniques he can use to address issues and problems affecting communities.

He started on the Working with Communities: Identity Regeneration and Change course and then continued with the Community Policy and Practice BA.

Janet Yates, TILL graduate

As a teenager, Janet dismissed the idea of getting a degree as something unattainable. But after working in insurance and raising her children, she decided to do a course at TILL.

She left with a first-class honours degree and was nominated for the Adult Learner of the Year Award.
