Tim Neal - further information
I am currently completing my PhD in the Department of Town and Regional Planning at the University of Sheffield. I have a professional background in tourism and studied landscape archaeology. My research interests emerged through my experiences of cultural landscape tourism and many years as a British migrant in continental Europe. My current thesis, where I have developed a more explicitly anthropological approach, is concerned with contemporary changes in French rural life with a particular focus on the arrival of British migrants. My areas of interest are wide. As well as publishing in the field of tourism and migration, I have maintained an interest in landscape archaeology and am currently preparing an edited volume for publication with BAR (British Archaeological Reports) on archaeological approaches to graffiti.
