Field Trip to CairoFrom the coming academic year (entry in September 2012) students will have the opportunity to develop their planning and design skills work in Cairo. During the Easter break students will take part in a 9 day field trip to this major city in the global south. Students will meet professional planners, city officials and community members. The trip will be supported by academics and students from Ain Shams University. |
EmployabilityThis course will equip you with the skills and knowledge which will allow you to follow a wide range of careers in planning and international development. Our graduates from have gone to work for a number of prestigious companies such as Oxfam, UK local authorities and the United Nations HABITAT organisation in Nairobi. The International Development and Planning course upholds the Department's established record and reputation for high-profile employment for graduates. |
Admissions CriteriaAll applications are treated individually and on their own merits. The normal entry requirement is a good honours degree, normally a First or Upper Second Class degree or its international equivalent. However, we recognise the value of experience and welcome applications from people who have been in practice of who bring other experience to their studies. We welcome applications from international students. However, if your education has not been in English you will be required to offer a suitable language qualification such as TOEFL. |
StaffThe core staff who teach on this programme have active research links with countries in the global South, including India, South Africa and Egypt.
