Hello from the Big Yellow Bear!!
On 17th & 18th November, Tim Richardson from the Physics Department, will be giving 24-hour back-to-back science lectures for Children in Need, in the Sheffield Science-a-Thon!
The lectures will vary hugely, from the basics of 'How Cool Things Work' to astronomy, aliens and even making ice-cream from liquid nitrogen! We even have a lecture on Harry Potter - the science behind the magic! (Friday 1.00pm).
Not all lectures require a background in science, so there really is something for everyone!
Poor Tim will be lecturing for the WHOLE 24 hours so he needs YOUR support!
Price:
1 lecture £1.50
All-Access wrist band £4!
All of which goes straight to Children in Need!
We also have tea/coffee/goodies on sale (also for Children in Need) which have kindly been donated by EventWithUS - so you can munch away through the lectures!
As if all that wasn't enough, we will have a raffle with loads of cool prizes donated by local businesses, dancing fun, and cakes on the concourse, and I myself (Pudsey) will be making myself known to everyone!
No need to book in advance, just turn up on the day, have some fun and support Children in Need.
