Before you arrive
There is lots going on in the run-up to moving into University accommodation, and we want the process as smooth as possible. Below are a few helpful bits of information about things to consider before you move in.
Contact information
There are a variety of teams and departments that you might need to get in touch with before and during your time in University accommodation, you can find everyone from University departments to health contacts using the button below.
E-induction and timeslot
Before you arrive, you need to complete the e-induction, this is located on MUSE and will be available once you've accepted your contact. The e-induction gives you a lot of information about your accommodation and is where you'll book your arrival timeslot, please try to stick to your chosen timeslot to ensure that everything runs smoothly over Intro.
Immigration and visa information
Read our guidance on accommodation information relating to visas for International students. Please note, that this information is specific to University accommodation. For all visa and immigration queries, speak to the International Student Support Team.
Insurance
Students get up to £5,000 of room contents insurance with Cover4Students included as part of your rent, with families getting up to £7,500. Find out more about the plan on our dedicated insurance page.
Key collection
Find out where you need to collect your keys before you arrive - there are designated key collection locations, including where to get your keys if you're arriving early or late.
Parking
Limited parking is available at the Ranmoor/Endcliffe residences and Broad Lane Court. You can apply for a residences parking permit if you do wish to bring a car.
Travelling to Sheffield
There are thousands of students moving into both University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam accommodation over Intro Weekend, so plan your journey beforehand.
TV Licenses
If you plan on watching live television, either on the TV or through a streaming service, you will need a TV License. You can find out more about them and if you need one on their website.
