If you've got a television in your student accommodation or watch/record shows from your computer, then you need a TV licence. Without a TV licence you could face up to a £1,000 fine.

For up-to-date cost information and details on the many ways you can pay, please visit the TV Licensing website www.tvlicensing.co.uk/studentinfo.

If you use BBC iPlayer, you need to know that the law is changing. From 1 September 2016, you need to be covered by a TV Licence if you download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer – live, catch up or on demand.

Of course, you’ll still need a licence if you plug in to watch or record live TV on any channel (including on iPlayer), no matter what device you use.
