If you've got a television in your student accommodation or watch/record shows from your computer, then you need a TV licence. Without a TV licence you could face up to a £1,000 fine.

For up-to-date cost information and details on the many ways you can pay, please visit the TV Licensing website

If you use BBC iPlayer, you need to know that the law is changing. From 1 September 2016, you need to be covered by a TV Licence if you download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer – live, catch up or on demand.

Of course, you’ll still need a licence if you plug in to watch or record live TV on any channel (including on iPlayer), no matter what device you use.
