Profile

I received a B.Eng. degree from Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, Romania in 2014 and a Ph.D in Automatic Control and Systems Engineering at The University of Sheffield in 2019. I am currently a Research Associate in the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering at The University of Sheffield, UK.

Research interests

My research addresses the problem of missing data by exploiting low-rank structures in high-dimensional datasets. In the era of Big Data, robust data collection strategies are paramount for ensuring the quantity and quality of the data. The use of data analysis tools, modelling and optimization techniques relies on having access to timely and accurate knowledge. Using tools such as information theory, random matrix theory and network theory, I aim to contribute towards a deeper understanding of the fundamental limits and develop new algorithms that can address practical challenges posed by the data acquisition systems.
