The Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering has strong links with a variety of industrial partners who are closely involved in shaping our teaching. Students also work alongside world leading researchers, many of whom are working on industry based projects. Students also have the chance to work with staff at the Rolls Royce supported University
Technology Centre within the Department.

This new course is an exciting mix of theory, practice and research, with the added benefit of learning a range of industrial management techniques to allow you to put your knowledge and experience into practice.

The core modules provide you with the range of skills a control and systems engineer needs, and you will learn about fundamental and advanced concepts of modelling, simulation, control, optimisation and systems engineering. There is a strong focus on the generality of these concepts ensuring that you will be equally prepared for careers in a variety of disciplines that rely on control and systems engineer.

You will also learn a range of management techniques, including project management, risk management, professional skills and effective management of innovative development. We will give you training in research methods and you will undertake an extended research project.

This MSc option is perfect for students who are wanting to work in higher management in industry or set up their own company.
