Unmanned Aircraft - A Future without Pilots

Dr Tony Dodd, Senior Lecturer in Aerospace Systems Engineering, has led the IET Sector Insight on Unmanned Aircraft:  Unmanned Aircraft - A Future without Pilots. This is the first of a set of IET Sector Insights on autonomous transport that will also include rail and road transport.  The Insight focusses on the many technological, social and ethical challenges that are being faced in the development of Unmanned Aircraft and the potential benefits that these will provide.

Staff in the Department of Automatic Control & Systems Engineering are world leading in their work on autonomous systems and are developing new algorithms and technologies that will help the potential of Unmanned Aircraft to be realised.  For more information on our exciting research see:
