PhD Loans Announcement

From September 2018, non-means tested loans will be available to students studying postgraduate research courses! The value of the loan will be up to £25,000 but students can choose how much they receive up to this. The loan is provided by the Student Loans Company and divided and paid each year of study, to be spent on fees or living costs. Repayment will consist of a single repayment of 6% above the income threshold (currently £21,000) to cover the combined balance of any postgraduate masters and doctoral loans.

The loan is available to UK nationals, or individuals with settled status in the UK who are ordinarily resident in England. Students must also be aged 59 or under on their first day of starting their course.
